Product Details:

The 12-Outlet Pivot-Plug Surge Protector provides premium power protection for both home and professional workstations. In addition to protection your computer, this protector is the ideal solution for all of your sensitive electronic equipment, and it includes additional protection for your telephone lines and coaxial connections . It’s built to protect professional workstations, laser printers, home-theater systems, and everyday household electronics.

The unique pivot-plug design provides greater convenience and flexibility in placing your plugged-in devices than traditional surge protectors. Eight of the 12 outlets pivot, allowing you better angles to connect your equipment and extra room for large AC adapter blocks. The surge protection features advanced design elements, high-quality construction, and superior circuitry and components that combine to provide the most complete protection from power surges, spikes, and AC contamination. A detachable cord-management clip will help you organize your cables and keep your desk clutter free. A right-angle plug helps you better manage your furniture by keeping the 8-foot cord close to the wall, and the protector’s sleek design will blend seamlessly with today’s modern electronics and appliances.

I live in an apartment that only has one set of outlets near my desk. The top outlet is rigged to the light switch, so that if the switch is off, the top outlet is off. Needless to say, a lamp is pretty much the only thing I can safely plug into that one. That leaves me with one outlet to serve all my assorted electronics, office equipment and chargers that surround my desk area. What’s a girl to do? Well, before, I was using a standard surge protector and unplugging/plugging in as I needed to. Clearly, this was entirely inconvenient and didn’t work very well when many of the things I needed to plug in had large adapters that covered more than one hole. I could only have 4 or 5 things plugged in at one time. Need to use the printer? Sorry, you need to unplug your external harddrive. Need to use them both at the same time? Sorry, you need to unplug your modem or your router. Need to use all of them at once and have your computer plugged in? Too bad!

Along comes this loveable behemoth. When I saw it on the Amazon search results, I thought it was just too good to be true. 12 plugs? Surely not! When this surge protector arrived, I was in surge protector heaven. Not only does this Belkin strip have 12 plugs, the pivot system allows you to actually USE all of them. The cord clamp is an added bonus for organization. And it’s really not that big, considering. It can be shoved under or behind a desk, shelf, stand, etc.

If you’re like me, and have more things to plug in than you know what to do with, do yourself a favor and buy this power strip. You’ll thank yourself later.
